Steinberg Users - Thinking about crowdfunding me a ticket to Berlin to get this company sorted out.

Post by ResonantMind » Fri Jan 18, 2019 10:36 pm

I'm at the stage of flying to Steinberg HQ to get things sorted out over there and get the company on track.

I will gather requests/issues from the community and I won't leave Berlin until things are on track, and the company has adjusted it's focus to what is logical and makes sense.

Learn some geography first, or you might sit in Berlin forever...

For all my whining and complaining, they seem to have things pretty well sorted already.
No DAW is perfect, but Cubase, warts and all, is a joy to use, I've tried them all.
Admittedly, it might be amusing to watch you storm their offices only to be escorted out by the police.
You're not going to have much clout as some random angry guy on the user forum, however they might be interested in meeting with you if you worked on analog circuit modeling DSP code for Waves or UAD, or have a dozen Billboard top 10's.
BTW the jet lag is brutal, you may end up waking up in Mongolia or China.

I'd be more interested in the sort of people who would be willing to give you money to do this.
Can you ask them to get in touch with me please?
I have some other ideas they might be interested in. :P

I'll donate $5.

Tell Charlie on certain days Cubase still shows recht & links and this needs immediate fixing. Once you leave, also stop-over at the NI Headquarters, so please buy a map, and put Berlin back on your itinerary.
Schlesische Straße 29-30
D-10997 Berlin,
Germany

When you get there, ask for Daniel. Tell him you won't leave Berlin until he re-hires Stephan, James W.H, and then revives Kore.

Thanks for all your help.

I think ResonantMind is either Jeremy Corbin, Theresa May, Donald Trump or Wayne Rooney!!!!!

He/she MUST be one of those!!!!!

If you really want to know, I'm much happier to be Vladimir Putin, a true world leader.

Yeah, but have you got the "cahones" to be Putin when you cant even sort out a simple DAW program like millions of other users......just saying!!

Wait, perhaps a luddite with no computer programing skills 65 year old musician like me, with a perfectly working computer set up, producing trouble free Cubase Pro10 music, including successfully using vocal align, should offer to help Steinberg sort out there issues........oh no,wait a moment!!!!

I'd like a little freebie like that!!!!

I doubt he is any of them. If he was, he'd have his own money to fly!

Resonant mind, don't forget your hotel fees too. You don't want to be sleeping on the street, you'll look pretty ragged by the time you travel from Berlin to Hamburg.

Don't forget to have enough money for a train ticket.

You also may want to pick up a book on coping means. You could read that on the flight and on the train and by the time you make it to HQ, you'll be in a much better place!

I love this place! This was a great comedy to read over my coffee this morning.

Knowing a little German too will get you a long way. Here are a few to get you started:

I flew from NY to Germany twice in my days. Once on United and the other on Singapore Airlines. Both are very comfortable but, my suggestion is to get enough funding for, at a minimum, business class seating. Definitely a requirement for clearing your mind prior to initiating a huge half thought out plan or if you are interested in watching a few movies for 10 hours.

Good luck ;)
