sidechain gate

Post by Aldersyde » Wed Nov 06, 2019 5:15 pm

I'm not able to send a key signal to the side-chain of the Steinberg gate from a group channel, only from an audio channel. I can set it up and see that the patch has been made but the actual signal from the key instrument does not actually get to the sidechain of the plugin.

I'd appreciate any insight as to what I can do to change this behavior.

Make sure an feedback loop wouldn't be created in this case. Isn't the Audio track routed back to the Group?

It should be impossible to create feedback seeing that the side-chain doesn't go into the audio path at all. Or at least it shouldn't.

A workaround might be, to create a submix of the group, and use that submix as the key.

Can that work, or is that what you have at the moment?

If that's really what you hear, Play It, Sing It, Write It or Program It!
