This is a major issue. We demand AAF suport. As a proffesional I cannot continue asking my clients for OMF.

+1 AAF Support for Cubase. Do I really need to run Nuendo Trail to get my Music Exports back from Avid via AAF ?
If Cubase is for Film Composers: Filmcomposers shall have the possibility to use common exchange formats...

Now also the new Studio One 4 got AAF.

I expect Cubase 10 to get AAF too... (no reason to be a Nuendo-only-feature).

even Presonus Studio one 4 has AAF.

But Cubase has been behind all other major daws for a long time

I agree AAF is an expected feature in any Pro DAW today. I think it will happen if enough users pressure Steinberg. Studio One 4 having AAF is a good thing because there seems to be quite a bit of feature completion between Cubase and Studio One with at least one of their developer being an ex Steinberg employee. Also, I think if we take this thread to Gearslutz Steinberg may take notice a little quicker. 😉😉

Does this really need to be a Nuendo feature only? It's a good way to share session data.

But Cubase has so many great and useful features that do not find in other daws, including S1 V4.

The functionality and feature richness is by far the best in Cubase. Except AAX.

It would be great if Steinberg made an actual pro version of Cubase that could be used in commercial studios. Don't they realise how many people are using competing DAWs (that aren't Nuendo) because of this?
Lots of stuff. OS agnostic.

I don't think anyone is willing to pay an extra $1000 for just importing a file format.
Studio one 4 pro is a 1/3 of that price. 10 has to support aaf.

well its smart, because you can use the demo of nuendo anyway to do the aaf thing and go back to cubase. So i think its a hidden advertisement - maybe people like nuendo so much - they buy it. :) At least, they installed it to have aaf capability. I think people would only change daw
if this workaround would not be possible at all and they really needed aaf....
