Record Guitar - quickly switching between C and L panning

Post by SparkyNZ » Wed Jun 20, 2018 4:06 am

(Beginner) When I record guitar, I like to monitor it with centre pan and then when I'm done I like to restore the pan to hard left or hard right. Likewise I like more volume on the guitar while recording but then I like the volume dropped when I want to hear how it sits in the mix.

Is there an easy way (even if it requires macro setup to get there) so that you can easily switch/toggle between channel volume and pan settings?

Would this kind of thing require some sort of routing to another channel (lower volume, panned hard left) which is muted during recording and then re-enabled during playback?
