Difference between Audio and Midi > Inter-App Audio

Post by necronome » Sat Nov 25, 2017 11:49 pm

Dear all,

i am trying to figure out why i see all apps in an audio track (Routing > Mono Input > Inter-App) but only a few of them in a midi track (as instrument). I just would like to record the synthesizer Thor as a midi track to alter some notes afterwards. Or is there another way to do that?

best regards,
nec

Hi nec,

Thanks for your message!

It always depends on the instrument or effect app manufacturer, what type of IAA connection (audio and/or MIDI) is available.
To learn more, please have a look at our "Limitations of Inter-App Audio" article right here:

P.S.: Please note that many off manufactures have updated their instruments and effects app to the newer Audio Unit standard, which provides much more flexibility in use...

Best,
Lars
