Using UR 44 without soft/lincense

Post by thesound » Sat Oct 20, 2018 5:13 pm

Is it possible to use UR44 as an usb audio interface without elicense and the dongle ? Don’t want to use the plugins.

All you need to install is the Yamaha/Steinberg USB driver, and the unit should give you the specified number of I/Os in any DAW.

Installing the Tools for UR package gets you tight integration into Cubase, or through DSPmix with any other DAW, adding the ability to use the HARDWARE fx even with direct monitoring turned on. (Like reverb in the vocalists phones even while in zero-latency direct monitoring.)

The only reason you would need the license/dongle is to use the SOFTWARE versions of the same plugins (same plugs as the ones on the fx chip) as VST plugins.
Windows 10
Cubase 10, Halion 6.1.15, Wavelab 9.5.35, Dorico 2.1
Intel Core i7, 16 Gb RAM, ASUS Z97-A mobo, 256 Gb SATA SSD system drive, 2x2TB SATA media drives,
G-Drive 3TB USB 3 drive.
Steinberg UR-RT 2, Steinberg MR816csx, Yamaha KX8, CC121, UAD-2 Duo (Pcie)
