When it's time to work out the best way to build muscle is to lift heavy weights for 8 to 10 repetitions. Working out with lighter weights and doing a greater number of repetitions will build lean muscle mass but will not give you the bulk that most weightlifters are looking for. If you can easily do more than 10 repetitions with the weight you're using, you're not using enough weight. Increase the amount of weight until it is a real struggle to complete 8 to 10 repetitions.
